To have access to all the daily sharing and chatter in #imakesci, you’ll need a Google + account. By joining Google’s social network, you’ll be able to access #imakesci Google + Community and also have the opportunity to create or sit in on Google Hangouts. Google + communities are great places to share content, have discussion and make connections. This beginner’s guide from Ryan Lytle at Mashable will help you understand the basics of how Google + Communities work.
While participating in this Massive Open Online Collaboration, you will probably not want to receive a massive number of emails. Be sure to turn off the notifications to avoid receiving an email notification each time someone contributes to the community.
The Remix, Remake, Curate (#imakesci) G+ community will buzz with participant chatter daily. Post questions, create quick progress updates and share interesting web content with this MOOC. Check in often to see what everyone is up to.
